Hello, l would like to introduce you to TSKA Exotics – The Specialist Keepers’ Association.
The TSKA Exotics brand has become widely known for quality service and exotic species ranges throughout the United Kingdom.
We have realised that in order to progress and further develop as a business, then diversification was and is the key to success. As such TSKA Exotics [Rory Matier & Jodie Lynn], Quarantine - UK and Nezumi Exotic Animals joined forces to work together. This move brings on board new business partnerships in the form of Gary & Nicky Emery of Quarantine -UK and Michelle Rhodes of Nezumi Exotic Ranges.
In addition we also have introduced Article Consultants whose experience is varied and comprehensive with a number of different species [Mammal, avian, reptile, primate], enclosures, environments and they can offer the reader much in the way of advice, information and tips on the species that may be in their collections. Combined we have over 500 years of animal husbandry, welfare and legislation experience that we wish to share with both novice and veteran keepers' alike.
TSKA Exotics wanted to create a really unique concept of service within the exotic species community for the United Kingdom. Something that has not been concentrated upon before within this industry.
A service package that genuinely focused on the keeper, but more importantly its strength was achieved by responsible management of attitude towards husbandry and as such encompassing the whole package that is the ethos of keeping exotic animals.
We work on behalf of a continually expanding client base made up of private keepers, suppliers, breeders, manufacturers, brokers, and retailers.
There are two main types of clients within this consultancy:
Clients
[Private Keepers - who may buy or sell]
Consultancy Clients
[Those whom purchase a specific service from the consultancy]
In the main, TSKA Exotics is 'an exotic species advertising media', secondly it is a learning and information bureau and finally a legislation centre.
One of the main roles of this advertising consultancy is to display exotic species for/on behalf of the client base. And another is to ensure that all the animals that TSKA do sell go into responsible ownership.
The main focus with the consultancy is to assist keepers in all walks, be they experienced or novice.
The Consultancy has many contacts throughout this industry, from all walks and from all fields - primate, mammal, rodent, reptile and avian.
TSKA tries to ensure that as a consultancy and as an advertising media that we cover as much ground as is possible for a business such as TSKA to do, without losing site of our direction.
Our Goals are fairly simple, but effective
Make Life Easier for Keepers
Solve Problems
Meet Needs
Answer Questions
Ensuring Value is achieved
Supply information
Strive to make the rights of both animals and keepers heard
As said ensuring that we can meet with a keeper’s needs and achieve success.
TSKA endeavour to achieve success with all that we do, be this with existing, yet tried and tested methods of success with our advertising or indeed our species sales. Or be this with new ventures such as our procedures behind protocol.
One of the formats of the 'protocol' TSKA adopts is the screening process. This asks certain questions of keepers, its aim is to attain the level of experience and competence that each keeper has, and the questions are relevant in many cases to the species that the keeper wishes to enquire about or indeed purchase.
Many of the questions concentrate on the keepers ' experience in handling, maintaining or just general husbandry with exotic species as a whole.
Questions are also raised in connection to the legislation that is relevant to many species, such as DWAL [Dangerous Wild Animals Licensing], PL [Public Liability] and Art 10 Documentation coverage.
We have these questionnaires for many reasons, but the main two being:
1] Because our client base request from us to know who their animals are potentially to be sold to
2] So that we are able to determine if some keepers require further assistance, in order for them to achieve husbandry success with the species they are looking to maintain.
But also they are there to serve not just our clients, nor the buyers, nor ourselves, but more importantly the animals.
We endeavour to ensure that we are able to keep traceability on where all the animals are housed, so that we are continually able to offer assistance when required.
TSKA Exotics will follow the screening process up before any purchases are actually finalised with Home Visits to the location of the proposed buyers. And we also will be offering a 1-1 consultation facility for buyers.
As genuine as our interests are concerning the screening process, the Home Visit section is now considered absolutely essential, as animal hoarding and as such subsequent animal cruelty and poor animal husbandry conditions have been seen to be on the increase in recent years.
Combined with the 'traceability' feature we employ, this means that not only are we able to keep track of all animals sold, but are also able to ensure that these animals and their owners are still doing well in the following months after purchase.
[We have re-introduced the Home Visit as a saftey measure for ourselves as well as a saftey measure for all others, animals and owners. TSKA Exotics has been in recent months the subject of attack from various parties stipulating that the 'screening process' is simply not enough to ensure the saftey of animals sold via our consultancy, and that animals may find themselves in distress if the owners are not kept in touch with and advice and care offered through our selves as an after sales facility]
As a consultancy, we have specialist and professional keepers on hand from the private exotics sector, additionally we have many learned colleagues as clients be these primatologist, zoologists, herpetologists, mammalogists, biologists as well as educators and governmental contacts. We try to ensure that we do have the right kind of knowledge at hand for general enquiries.
We also supply information, for those keepers who may wish to learn about certain UK legislation, such as DWAL, Public Liability, Article 10 Certifications, and Quarantine Protocol. We continually add to this feature, so as to keep all keepers well informed.
Other aspects of our service include supplying as many care guides as our client base, and all our contacts can eagerly furnish the Website with. Our long-range plan is to be able to furnish all our browsers and potential buyers with a full and comprehensive Website guide covering all aspects of exotic species keeping and understanding.
TSKA is a consultancy dedicated to providing a service to exotic livestock keepers internationally, with our main focus and client base present in the United Kingdom.
The main features to our business are client liaison, co-ordination, resourcing, research, traceability, accountability, species securement, administration, legislation and politics, advertising, marketing and promotions. Our clients range from professional, specialist, learned and learning.
We represent and promote the community of responsible ownership, husbandry and welfare, animals and keepers rights. As well as concentrating upon the correct procedures involved in the process of selling exotic species on the Internet.
[As we perceive them to be so and also how we believe they will be when the Codes of Practice establish within the industry]
We also represent the education of novice keepers utilising care guides, communication facilities, experienced keepers and also advisory features. TSKA Exotics provide information, advice, tips, guidance, but above all we are here to listen to what is required and then we act upon it.
We are a professional business, focusing on aspects of in the main, correct selling procedure and protocol. We follow a line of conduct, which is befitting in today’s' politically changing world of keeping exotics within the private sector. We show to the world of non-keepers and believers that there is a correct way forwards. We openly display how we sell our clients species, we screen potential buyers, showing to those who oppose keeping of not just exotics but any animals that we are responsible in our actions, that we do care where all the animals go to and whom ends up as final owner.
We screen all potential buyers so as to verify to those whom think that ownership of any animal is simply a small dismissive affair, that it is not, it is a commitment and an undertaking for in some cases a significant amount of your life and that of the animals themselves.
So thankyou for reading, we all look forwards to hearing from you in the future with any enquiries you may have concerning captive bred exotic animals within our industry.
