NAPAK was formed in 1986 due to the need for an authoritative voice against the ever-increasing legislation facing animal keepers. NAPAK aims to present a united and informed front to those opposed to keeping and breeding animals in captivity.
NAPAK welcomes not only the serious or professional keeper of non-domestic species, but also those who own domestic pets, however few, as well as those who keep no animals at all. All keepers, whatever their level, have a valuable contribution to make. Help, advice, information and guidance is freely available if required.
The aims of NAPAK remain to try to prevent unreasonably restrictive legislation as well as to aid and educate those with an interest in animal keeping and the well being of the world’s animal life.
Attendance at CITES, Non-native Species Review, Bird Registration Review, etc., successfully minimising the impact of legislation on keepers.
